16-13-7 vs 15-16-7

Two pretty evenly matched teams, though the canes are 2 points up with 2 games in hand.

A win brings them within 4 points of the Flyers with 2 games in hand on them as well. They'll be ready to go.

Ah, but the Hurricanes have the best PK in the league. Not sure where the Devils' PP ranks.

At this point I'm just hoping the good NJ Devils team shows up to make it interesting. The win/loss is less concerning if they can start playing some consistently decent hockey.

They need to do something about the power play which looks remarkably crappy and I keep thinking the PK has better stats then they deserve.

29th in the league at 13.4 %. It's embarrassing and someone should have been replaced by now. Ironically we do have 3 more PP goals then the Islanders who are hitting it at 15.2% (good for 24th...if you can call that good).

What confuses me is when the devils manage to move the puck around and sustain zone pressure On the PP they don't score but when they can't move the puck and barely sustain pressure they some how manage to score every now and then lol it should be reversed

Kyle Quincy should not be on the ice when we have a PP.

That is all.

Your PK is a respectable 10th in the league tough. The Isles are 24th in both PK & PP. The PP in particular is an abortion. The only reason that percentage didn't drop was because Hellebuck (?) went Halak and sucked the other night. Let in a few soft goals. 2 I believe were PP goals.

Clearly, this is the start of a six game win streak.

Only on the Devils can you go from be the #6/7 dman (or even sent down to the minors--Auvitu) to being the QB of the second PP unit.

By the way, I realize the Bruins aren't a tremendous team or anything, but the Devils didn't look any worse out there without Zajac. Just saying...

Sounds like the Isle PP is similar to the Devil's PK. The on ice product looks worse then the stats.

Ummm, the Isles invented that. You're welcome.

That and having a bottom 6 forward play the point.

Both look horrible for the Isles. The PP is the worst to watch. They basically just pass it in a circle, then fake a shot and then reverse the passing circle. Repeat until broken up and cleared.
The PK is a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit better to watch. They do ok when they actually stay in the box and move as a unit. That usually doesn't last but for a few seconds before they start chasing and have 3 guys below the goal line. Next thing you know it's in the back of the net, 2 guys are sprawled on the ice, one is hunched over trying to breathe and the 4th is standing at the blue line waiting for an outlet pass.

Allowing 3 goals by Luke Gazdic would be the most Hurricanes thing to do in history.
